Only one life.

Happy Birthday Emmer! -2 years old!

Picture 096 My youngest son, Emmer “Cubbie”, is two years old today! Wow, I wonder what the next year will hold? Be it terrible or terrific I look forward to watching our baby grow through this fun age.

It’s different for us that our youngest is two and there is not another baby on the way yet. With our last two children each time on their second birthday I was already 8 months pregnant with the next one. I guess Emmer will be well through 2 years old when we are blessed with our next child. Although Emmer sort of makes up for what would otherwise be “easier” on us with all his abundant energy and his intense love and passion for … well, just about everything (hmmm. I wonder where he gets that?) but especially for being with mommy and daddy all the time and as often as he can be.

But he really is just the greatest joy in our lives. He’s all-boy, rough, tough, and tumble, daring, adventurous, fearless and curious. He’s also charming, goofy and just a very funny kid who loves to have fun all the time and in every way possible. (As you can tell I’m a very proud mommy J.)

I’m sorry I’m not able to be there with him on his special day since I’m away at meetings, but we’ll celebrate when we get home and hopefully do something fun and memorable.

Our three children are truly the richest gifts of love the Lord has placed in our lives and we could never stop thanking Him enough for considering us worthy of being their earthly parents and enjoying raising them and all that it entails. (Thank You, Jesus.) In good times and in difficult, they enrich our lives in so many ways, make us want to be better people, live better, love more, and motivate us to want to do whatever we can no matter how simple it may seem to be make the world a better place.

One thing I’m very thankful for today is his caregivers Dulcy (aka “Auntie Bob”, his new special nanny), Sonia, and Tammy, and Kat (always been there to steal hugs from him since he was born). I really appreciate each of you and all the love and learning input you have shared with him. Thank you for your selflessness and loving care. Thanks for helping shape his life and fill it with fun and love and good memories! We are eternally in your debt and so very thankful for you!

Happy birthday Emmer!

Emmer is such a cutie. He was over here yesterday playing with the “big boys” he just loves it. He was running around the trampoline “hitting” all the big kids with a plastic bottle and they were laughing so hard. He’s such a doll.
