Don’t close your eyes, open them wide
From pain and danger do not hide
Embrace the wind, unrestrain its flow
Into the deep, fall free below
I won’t cut you loose though it’s your plea
Until you trust to jump, you can’t really know Me
I am the Cord that holds you tight
As you bungee drop into the night
The depths to which unknown to all
Bursting pain withheld till fall
It’s not up there, it’s down so low
The special thing I want to show
There is a treasure that lies so deep
Within the earth beneath your feet
I command it now to open wide
I ask you to let yourself go and slide
Make the step, throw your arms wide open
Fall free at last of painful emotion
The pain is part of the need to release
And from disguising end and cease
With blinding tears you liberate that
Which was only yours to let go and give back
Each jump is new and its end forebode
In that toss of will into the Maker’s own
When your soul is weak and your body sapped
I’m a bed to catch you My love, fall free
Discover then your mercy-net is Me
When your chest is hot and your mind delirious
Bungee drop until you cannot feel it
I am the Rock, cling to Me
I am the bed that breaks the deep
Descend to Me and rebound alive
I’ll take you low I’ll blow you high
I’ll let you fall to set you free
I’ll let you cry to comfort thee
I’ll let you hurt to spill My elixir
I’ll let you break to come and fix you
I’ll anchor you for a thousand falls
And I’ll resurrect you in final rebound
Where can I go where You’re not there
Though I am stained Your love’s unfair
If I ascend to heaven and dance with You
Make my bed in hell, I lay on You
Don’t cut the cord don’t ease my pain
You’re worth it Lord You are my gain
I will not give if I cannot spend
I will not live if I cannot love again
I will not fear the plummet nigh
I’ll jump again
I’ll never die

you read it to us. It’s exactly what I would say if I still wrote poetry and if I
could do it as good as you did.
Nothing like words from the heart.
I felt it, I love to feel!
I I’m contemplating putting some sort of tune to that and tormenting you by singing it as a song….heh heh…just a thought …don’t tell anyone. I probably won’t as I wouldn’t want to desecrate your beautiful poem with something funky I would do …but hey…maybe some skilled musician/singer will see this and get a grand idea and bring it to fruition.
Anyways I love the poem but most of all I love you and Jesus in you. He shines so bright when you are near. HURAH!!!!
