Vacation and Family Reunion –Day 1
Vacation, Family Reunion, Yippeeee!
Day one: My wonderful Grandma planned this family reunion and 5 day vacation for us all. Mike and Nina, Marco and Feli, Amy, Danni & Duane, Michelle, Dad and Mom and allllllll the grandkids (9 total) are together with Great-grandma for these 5 days.
This morning we got a start driving up in our van with our 3 kiddos plus Auntie Michelle to Grandma’s city. We arrived safely, but not without fighting off multiple car-sickness episodes that ended up in stops to clean up and …. And Evan and Emmer fighting off slight fevers too. But the kids felt better when we arrived and took baths and jumped under the cozy covers of the down blankets and on top of the plush beds here at the Sheraton. As Evan said “The thing I really like about this hotel is that the beds are even WAY more comfier than our beds at home!”
God and Grandma are good!
Evan made us so very proud tonight. At the arrival dinner together tonight he “dinged” his knife on his water glass and made an announcement that he thought we should all thank Jesus for something we appreciate about Nana (Great-Grandma). He had explained that when his fried Cole had to go into quarantine for the chicken pox recently, and then returned home, we all went around the room at dinner and said something that we appreciated about him and his mom (Kat). So he thought we should do that for Nana. We all got a chance to say the things we think and appreciate about Nana, but always save for “that day”.
I love the idea of not saving the best, or our love, for last, and giving it and living it every day. I’m very proud of my son today. And I really love my Grandma.
I really hope to blog and post pics of each day of this trip. Hope we don’t bore anyone with too much family news. But then, I haven’t posted in awhile.
We love you all!
