Day at the Bay
We got our own mini bus today that shuttled the 22 of us to San Francisco and around the city. It’s really a beautiful place. The first stop was Golden Gate bridge. Learning more about it, the work that went into it and that keeps it functioning today was an eye-opener as to why it’s such a famous bridge. We got some really nice photos there in front of the bridge and the bay. But alas, it seems I forgot the wire to upload pictures from my camera. So I guess until I find out if one of our clan has one that I can use, I won’t be able to post pics. (I was really looking forward to being able to do that here while we’re on something better than satellite.)
We had a terrific lunch at the Rain Forest Café at Fisherman’s Warf. The kids enjoyed the animal and forest sights and sounds at the restaurant, and we breathed a sigh of relief that we had finally found a restaurant that was louder than we were. Heh.
Once nice and stuffed, we took the ferry out to Alcatraz. We got the audio tour. It was pretty interesting to see the place first hand. The kids enjoyed running around the place and getting their picture taken a million times. I’ve always really enjoyed museums, history, tours, and the like. And while the kids appreciated the exercise, I think they thought the ferry was more fun.
We’re TIRED!
But it was another wonderful day. Praise the Lord!
