Just poke’em in the eye, K, Darren?

I suppose being born near the Aussie waters famous for their beauty, reefs, and shark attacks, must be where Darren developed his shark-phobia.
You know some of us have deep dark secret fears about heights, spiders, something jumping out of a toilet when you go to your bathroom in the dark at night, getting stranded on a highway with a breakdown or running out of gas at midnight, or, well… whatever our personal worst-case-scenario might be. Darren’s thing just happens to be a possible shark-attack. He calls it a “healthy fear”. I say it’s beyond gone beyond health’s sake. He has the statistics on shark attacks in Aussie waters like. memorized.  
We’re hoping/planning/praying to go to Australia sometime this year to spend time with Darren’s family and I’m kind of hoping we’ll get to go to Aussie’s famous coasts. But first I have to help Darren with this fear thingy. So that’s why I found this article so helpful for you, baby. Should you ever find yourself in your worst nightmare while we’re there, just remember the ol’ poke ‘em in the eye trick. It worked for this diver guy who apparently escaped a 10-foot shark’s attack by poking the shark in its eye after it had already chomped on his head once and was preparing for another bite. See, you can do that too! It’ll be fun, I promise!
Now I just have to find some way to beat melanoma so the kids and us will be safe on the beach for a few hours.
If you’re starting to feel sorry for poor Darren or thinking maybe it’s Darren getting the “poke” here, well maybe, just a little :-)  But you have to understand that we’re getting close to two years on this blog and no posts or comments from Darren yet, so maybe this is just a tad bit provocative.
You all want to hear from him too I’m sure. So cheer me on mates! :-) At least I may get Darren to read the blog. Otherwise please comment with suggestions on a new blog name. Claire and…. ?? …and Claire ??
