Focus on the Belly

I’m just over six months pregnant.I’m getting anxious to nail down a name. We have two that we like and we just can’t choose. And yes, they both start with E.And it looks like naming with an E is going to win this time. At least so say Darren (who doesn’t have an opinion and always lets me handle naming the baby yeah, right!) and the kids. But they’re still all split on which of the two E names they like best. The kids change their loyalties from one to the other all the time. 

It’s been fun and interesting this 4th time around. With each of the three we’ve done things a little differently in how we’ve announced the baby news.

With Evan we picked a name first, announced the sonogram said he was going to be a boy second and so it was all quite expected.  With Ella we also knew she was going to be a girl, and I think we had also decided on her name ahead of time. Can’t remember if we told people. Oh wait, yes we did, I remember now, it turned out someone else near us picked the same middle name for their baby girl who was also as yet unborn. Ella and her middle name twin became good friends and hung out together as babies. Emmer was a total surprise. We wanted to have it that way and it was very fun. Already had one of each so it didn’t matter. We were going to name him William (my choice) but changed it because we also liked Emmer (Darren’s choice). The anticipation of it all –not knowing the sex or name was very fun and we would have done it again this time, except, well we were hoping for a girl and so it seemed better to find out ahead of time what it is.

And, this time around I have a blog. And it’s just way too much fun to blog about! I guess it’s kind of hard to keep secrets and surprises when you have a blog that just begs you to surrender up good pieces of information to the GP.
