a crush… Whaat?
I came home from being away for 10 days and I was in the car driving with my kids to the paleta (Mexican popsicle) shop when I hear my 5 year old daughter Ella say to her brother Evan;
“I wanna have a crush with Cade.”
(Cade is a 6 year old boy, the son of Sam and Maria)
Evan replies, “Are you sure?” with an air of responsibility
Ella: “Yes Evan, I wanna marry him.”
Evan: “Oookaay.”
So a lot can happen in 10 days.

It wasn’t me, I swear. I have no idea how she could have come up with that. My days with her were you know…normal. And that isn’t normal Ruthie talk.
July 2nd, 2007 at 12:54 amYou can tell Ella, that judging by the look on Cade’s face when I read this post to him, that she just may be able to get him to go for her plan. Heh, ya just never know!
July 5th, 2007 at 6:42 pmYes, and I’m quite pleased with her choice anyway. Thank God she likes good boys.
July 5th, 2007 at 8:55 pmSurely it wasn’t Ruthie’s idea. Now if I had come home and she had been googling sports stats….
Thank you for doing the most awesome job ever caring for our children and loving them, giving them a wonderful week while we were away. I love you Ruthie, and am so very thankful to you for the long days and nights, to Natalie also, and to Tory for the fun parent times with the kids. They had a blast with you and didn’t seem anxious for us to come home.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
