Travels and Nesting
We’ve had some fun lately in between all the work. Whew!
After getting back from Montana we went up to Northern Cal to visit both my grandmothers, the kids great-grandmas, and we visited my sister Danni and her family. We had a wonderful time. It was so nice to be able to see everyone before coming back home to Mexico and kicking into nesting mode. I told everyone that was the last trip and visit until after the baby comes and is sleeping through the night (riiiiight!) It was SO good it worked out to see everyone.
On the way home Marco and Feli had arrived from Albania and we got to see them. They came down here to Mexico for a weekend. Marco and Darren brought some stuff down for dad and mom and then Marco set up their apartment for them. Being much more familiar with cement and cynder block walls than we are, rooms built without closets and tile floors, dirt roads, –all those things were just like home to him and he managed to get pictures up on the walls faster than anyone else has been able to. It was no feat to him. He’s a good guy, Marco.
We tried to go to the circus while Marco and Feli were here but their electricity went off right before show time so we missed out. But we walked around the tent and saw all the animals.
The next weekend we went up and spent Family day at Sea World with Marco and Feli. Very fun!
Evan went up ahead of us (thanks for taking him up Ruthie and Michael!) so he could go to cousin Richard’s birthday party (where I hear they had some great water fights, – thanks John and Abi for having him for the day!) and then he spend a few days with Feli and Marco and Dean. It was a great week for Evan. He felt so grown up and was thankful to be able to do some grown up stuff. Ella and Emmer missed him terribly though. Ella wept her heart out the night before he left and Evan felt so bad he said he wanted to stay home so she wouldn’t cry or be sad. So sweet! We eventually calmed her down and cheered her up with the promise of going to Kaylee’s at the “beach house” for a play date. That worked out nicely for me too. I got to have girlfriend time with Nadia and Paula.
I’m so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends.
