On Christmas Eve… around the world
I like to look at a few things happening around the world on Christmas, here are two articles I chose,
The fist interesting to me because it shows, once again, that there is peace and goodwill towards men even in troubled and war-torn places at Christmas. –And I LOVE their “Free Hugs” T-shirt. I want one of those!!! (Somebody please give me one for Christmas!) What a great idea to go around hugging perfect strangers on Christmas. That’s just what everyone needs. How can you refuse that? Even in a place where bombs ravage the neighborhood you’ve grown up in all your life.
Having been painfully aware of global politics and situations my whole life… I still follow the news from the countries I visited as a child when I was growing up as a mish-kid. But when I left home for the first time and took on a mission in Russia (Former USSR), it was a whole new life and sometimes near-death adventure.
Just as I left Russia, Putin became president of that frazzled country that is almost a continent. I was interested to find that “TIME” named him man of the year for what he has done there, not necessarily all good….
And lastly, I do stand in respect of those who bring the gospel to life in modern day terms and parallels & do not leave it in the distant unassociable past…. So the birth of God’s son can be compared to shopping, –now that’s got my interest. I just HAVE TO KNOW how, because that might actually mean something to me.
make that three… hee hee
