FAQ: Where does Ella get her red hair?
D/C: This is definitely our #1 FAQ. In fact we get it so much that we’ve been trying to come up with some witty one-line replies just so we can kill the boredom of answering it. It’s so often that we are asked this, especially by other parents we meet out and about, that often now when we see someone approaching us while playing with our kids at the park we are tempted to greet them with the answer to this question instead of the traditional “how’s it goin’?”
The Fact is that while neither Darren or Claire have red hair, there are many red heads in both of our families. Darren has two sisters with red hair. Claire’s mom has red hair, and so does 75% of her mother’s family.
We’re guessin’ that’s where Ella gets it.

Your guess is correct. You both have to have the recessive gene to make it work and bang a firey redhead, it may skip a generation. Red hair is Scot & Irish and only 2% is the states and 5% in the world are blessed with it. I have been blessed with it from my ansestors. As a child it is hard to have red hair because you are different and picked on. When the times get hard Let that redheaded child know how special he or she is for having the red hair. Freckles are angel kisses. Most people think redheads eat to many carrots.
