The Devil is a Boy
![]()
So I’m having our usual daily devotions with the kids this morning and we’re reading the Bible. The kids are reviewing their scripture memory work and Evan was memorizing the verse “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Cor 6:20 I was explaining the meaning of that verse to Evan when I got into how the Devil is a fallen angel and that whole story.
At this point Ella’s tunes in and asks “Mom, the Devil is a boy, right?” I pause for a moment (me thinking: hmmm where are we going with this?) before answering “Yes.” Ella widens her eyes and replies “Yeah, I knew that he was a boy!” Hrmm… Apparently that was her “lesson” from this morning’s devotions as she continued to repeat variations of that thought throughout the rest of our reading time. “Mommy, know what? The devil is a boy.” “Yeah, because he’s a boy.” etc.
Ella is only three years old but she is constantly amazing me with the things she comes up with and the stages she seems to go through -a little early for her age- … So now Ella, who has 2 brothers and has so far been a little “enchanter” when it comes to boys, now seems to possibly be entering the “boys are the enemy” stage a little early in life. Well, I hope it’s a “just for today” thing and that it doesn’t stick too long.
We’ll see how it goes and I’ll keep you “posted”! heh.
Makes sense.
God vs. Devil = Women vs. Men
God = Woman
Devil = Man
Pretty much how I’ve been indoctrinated these last 10 years.
