Cousinoons, Cousinings.
This is our last day in California just before heading back home. We went over to visit our family and our kids’ cousins, the children of Mike and Nina , John and Abi, and Danni & Duane. Evan and Ella were just so excited and had been looking forward to this our whole trip.
On the drive over to their place I had the following conversation with my son, Evan:
Evan: Mom, do you like “cousinoons”?
me: “Cousinoons?” Umm, sure, why not.
Evan: Do you know what “cousinoons” are?
me: umm, no not so much.
Evan: They are afternoons that you spend with your cousins.
me thinking: sweet, and smart too!
Later, much later, our afternoon ran into evening and we were still hanging out there with our cousins so I got to ask Evan, “Evan, do you know what “counsinings” are?” Evan replied, “no”.
Me: It’s evenings you spend with your cousins.
Evan was so greatly inspired by that one
The kids all played so great together! It was awesome. SOOO nice for Evan to get to play with a group of rowdy (but sweet) boys his age, and for Ella to be able to play 6 hours with cousin Charlie’s undivided attention… wow! It was cousin-heaven.
Their new home has a beautiful yard, so great for the kids and so theraputic for both the parents and children.
Thanks for having us guys. It was sooo much fun.
Nice to see y’all!
