Home and away, away from home, home again… birthday season springs on us

We’ve been away at meetings and are home now. SOOOOOOO very happy to see our kids and be with them again!

Emmer is talking so much now. He gives us these intense hugs and kisses and says “My Daddy see me! My mommy see me!”

Ella keeps retelling the story of how “Auntie Michy drove us over to *the Lamb’s Home* to pick up mommy and daddy and first we played with our friends but then we drove away and got lost in the rain -driving and driving- and Emmer was screaming and crying and crying and so then auntie Michy took us back to the *Lamb’s Home* where we slept in a bunk bed until you came to get us!” etc. etc. She also tells us she called Grandma (who was taking care of them) “mom” while we were gone. “But now you can be ‘mom’ again.” She says. J

Evan turned six. He’s an amazing kid. We brought him home a drama story on (CD) that was about 45 minutes long. We thought the story was going to be a bit over his head but after listening to it once through he retold the whole thing drawing the right conclusions and stopping to point out the “lessons” along the way and the final moral of the story. He’s been called spacey sometimes but I’ve learned he has great listening and cognitive skills.

While we were gone God performed another of his fabulous miracles: giving life! My sister Danni had a baby girl, Desiree Ann. Named after my grandmother. I think the name is going to suit her with her sure-to-be beautiful, brown, curly locks. Praise the Lord for a healthy baby and mommy!

A baby girl was also born to our friends and co-workers Nadia and Justin. Congratulations! We love you guys!

This all reminds me: Spring is birthday season and two more births have just added to the spring-birthday ranks. For our personal family 4 out of 5 of us all have our birthdays within 30 days. (Not to mention all the others who have their birthdays this time too. Mike, Nina, Sam D. Sam P. Ruthie, Boo, Paula, Amy, Everyone Else. For the last few months it’s almost an everyday thing, every other day sometimes and at least every few days!) For us first it’s Claire, then Evan 5 days later, Darren 10 days after that and Ella 11 days after. Emmer comes around soon enough in June. We’ve also come to know spring as “lean”. With our wallets a little on the slim side, our hearts sure stay pretty full this time of year, and pretty close to bursting actually. The Lord has blessed us with a lot of love!

Back at home we feel a little behind in our game, but that’s overshadowed by hearts that are full of appreciation and awe at the wonderful people we live with who kept home and work fires burning while we were away. Thanks for making Home the place we really miss when we are away and really love to come home to. Thanks for everything dear friends! We love and appreciate you!
